TRANSPORT ADMINISTRATOR

Rotating shifts between 07:00 – 20:00 hours

We have a great opportunity for suitably experienced Transport Administrators to join the transport team of one of the UK leading Port Operators.  As the Transport Administrator you will enjoy working in a busy department, with an outgoing personality and the ability to deal with HGV drivers.  Working alongside the existing transport team you will need experience of all transport functions, including compliance and health and safety experience.   We are seeking Transport Administrators who have great organisational skills and the ability to multi-task.  This is a great opportunity for Transport professionals to join a progressive organisation, make your mark and learn all aspects of transport including planning and compliance.  With a passion for transport operations the company offer genuine opportunities, including training, to individuals who are keen and eager to develop their career prospects.

Personal specification – Transport Administrator:

  • Proven experience working in a busy transport office
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • CPC would be an advantage but not essential
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A team player who can work well under pressure
  • Good IT skills
  • Good geographical knowledge of UK

Key responsibilities – Transport Administrator:

  • Performing administrative duties including accurate input of information, timesheets, tachograph records and holiday rotas
  • Answering incoming enquiries from internal and external customer relating to transport 
  • Developing good relationships with drivers and other key stakeholders, including the Engineering department and the maintenance provider with regard to defects and servicing 
  • Knowledge of operational processes and compliance surrounding trucks and drivers’ 
  • To support other team members in problem solving 
  • To develop an understanding of day-to -day equipment for all trucks and drivers
  • Performing on-call duties on a rota basis 
  • Ensure effective vehicle resources are available whilst ensuring safe vehicle operations 
  • Supervise vehicle availability on a daily basis ensuring that drivers have completed their checks in accordance with company policy 
  • Contribute toward ongoing cost control, actively seeking to improve efficiency and reducing costs
  • Keep accurate records of costs, and schedules, and manage changes to schedules if applicable 
  • Develop and provide daily weekly and monthly reports 
  • Monitoring of LYTX in cab camera equipment and the upkeep of FTA online tachograph reporting
