We have an exciting, newly created, role for an enthusiastic Process Improvement Engineer to join the friendly team of our well-know and well-established client in Horncastle.  With experience in supply chain (transport or distribution operations), reporting to the Supply Chain Director your role as Process Improvement Engineer will be to work closely with managers and wider operational teams to identify, manage, plan and co-ordinate the delivery of key strategic business improvement projects.  We are seeking a Process Engineer with an analytical mind and a logical and methodical approach to ensure projects are identified and implemented in the most efficient manner.  This is a genuine opportunity for a Process Improvement Engineer, passionate about project planning to join a great company and contribute to their continued success.

Key responsibilities – Process Improvement Engineer:

  • To identify and co-ordinate key strategic business improvement projects reducing waste in all supply chain areas.
  • To organise and administrate the supply chain systems databases ensuring that they are kept up to date and monitored.
  • To ensure that all identified projects are documented on a project tracking system that allows their progress to be monitored from concept to implementation, tracking task completion dates, cost and payback.
  • Compilation and submission of cap-ex request forms with suitable justification calculations and presentations attached as required. 
  • Project management, where appropriate, helping to develop the concept, costings, timeline, benefits. 
  • Provide excellent communication to key stakeholders throughout a project’s life cycle. 
  • Organise/attend project review meetings ensuring that all relevant information is updated and available. 
  • Use Continuous Improvement techniques to ensure that projects are identified and implemented into the business in an efficient and robust way.

Personal specification – Process Improvement Analyst:

  • Postsecondary education level with significant experience in Supply Chain including transport or distribution operations.
  • Lean Six Sigma Qualification – Green Belt or higher (essential) or a proven knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and lean principles.
  • Strong financial management, problem solving and strategic-thinking skills.
  • Excellent computer skill set with an understanding of data capture and system integration.
  • Able to build effective relationships and collaborate with a range of individuals at all levels in the organisation and be able to thrive in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and an ability to turn complex analysis into meaningful strategy, which can be understood at all levels in the organisation.
  • Self-motivated, well organised and methodical work ethic.
  • Good project planning appreciation to ensure all areas of an identified project have been considered.
