We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join the friendly team of this well-established, family run organisation.  Reporting to the Financial Director your role as Payroll Administrator will be the preparation of the weekly and salaried payrolls for the business, ensuring all employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner.  Whilst payroll experience would be an advantage this is not necessary as full training will be given. More important is your administrative skills and the ability to deal with any queries in an efficient and effective manner where your strong personality will be a great advantage.  This is a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Administrator to diversify into a Payroll Administrator with a progressive company who have impressive investment opportunities over the next five years.  The company take pride in their employees and encourage career progression.

Personal Specification – Payroll Administrator:

  • Proven experience in office administration
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word and Excel
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good time management skills with ability to prioritise
  • Ensure complete confidentiality at all times
  • An understanding of accounting procedures
  • Excellent data entry skills

Key responsibilities – Accounts Assistant:

Weekly Payroll Preparation

  • Data collection of hours via an hourly clocking system, preparation for processing
  • Check and authorise payroll on a four weekly basis, ensuring payment is made on the correct date and in a timely manner
  • Balance and code ledger

Four Weekly and Monthly Payroll Preparation

  • Prepare four weekly and monthly payroll for processing
  • Check and authorise final finning of payroll
  • Balance and code to ledger
  • Maintain payroll information according to salaried contracted terms and conditions
  • Maintain employee/employer confidentially at all times

HMRC Reporting/Pension Requirements

  • Deduction and timely payments of NEST/Group pension/Company pension and Union payments
  • Ensure P32 is received in a timely fashion for payment to HMRC
  • Auto enrolment of employees to NEST
