Office Manager





09:00 – 17:00 (1 hour lunch), 25 days annual leave + b.h.’s

Looking for an exciting, autonomous, role which encompasses working within a small friendly team, line managing two members of staff, dealing with the accounts and acting as PA to the Directors?

Due to retirement, we are seeking an Office Manager, with Sage Accounting experience who is a self-starter, capable of working on their own initiative and who enjoys ensuring that all aspects of the office run smoothly.

This is a genuine opportunity for a suitably qualified, enthusiastic Office Manager to take ownership of this role and make your own mark, working in this relaxed atmosphere.



  • Process supplier invoices
  • Process purchase invoices
  • Manage cash flow and debtors
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliation
  • Submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Liaise with accountants
  • Assist with monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with HMRC
  • Process monthly and quarterly agents’ sales reports/expenses
  • Monthly Management Accounts preparation

PA (HR) duties:

  • Line manage two staff members
  • Monitor staff sickness/holidays
  • Process reports for Directors (stock movements, deliveries, customer, supplier and agents’ activity)
  • Assist with employment contracts and annual staff appraisals
  • Assist with annual budget forecasting
  • Assist with annual R&D Tax Relief Claim
  • Manage commercial, vehicle and mobile phone insurances and leases
  • Update risk assessments
  • Update/prepare office Standard Operating Procedures
  • Prepare reports for Soil Association audit
  • Proofread company literature/articles/labels

Personal Specification – Office Manager:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or similar role Experience of working as PA at Director level
  • Experience of working with Sage Accounts
  • Microsoft Office proficient, including Excel
  • Self-motivated
  • Good team player
  • Excellent communication skills
