We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager, with a Civil Engineering background, to join our established and growing client who specialise in the provision of comprehensive membrane installations for gas protection measures throughout the UK. The Contracts Manager, reporting directly to the MD, will have extensive experience managing civil engineering projects with a solid understanding of construction drawings and the construction process, handling projects up to ten million pounds.  With a passion for managing client’s expectations you will be a Contracts Manager looking for a great opportunity to develop your career within this fast growing and highly recognised organisation.

Key responsibilities – Contracts Manager (Civils):

  • Manage the professional development of all site staff and develop strong team working relationships
  • Manage the pre-construction section of each project, ensuring site is ready for the installation team to attend and customers are advised of the process
  • Constant review of contracts during process, ensuring the company is contractually covered for works undertaken
  • Organise and manage materials for each project from different locations and different suppliers
  • Carry out risk assessments and method statements for each project, implement and enforce
  • Cost manage each project, maintaining project margins
  • Manage the delivery side of the business – between five and ten teams nationwide
  • Obtain feedback on the delivery side of the business from the customer
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with core customers
  • Check CQAS and quality control documentation daily, flag up issues to staff/ management
  • Comply and develop company culture core values

Personal specification – Civil Engineering Manager:

  • Proven experience managing civil engineering projects up to ten million pounds
  • Good working knowledge of contract conditions
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to respond promptly to each situation
  • Extremely flexible mind, able to work under pressure/multi-task – a natural leader
  • Driven, with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to form positive relationships with staff and customers
  • Commercially aware, a driving force to the future success of the company
  • Excellent eye for detail to spot discrepancies/issues
