We have an exciting development opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the well established and friendly team of our client based in New Holland.  With 180 years trading experience the company have a network of branches supplying timber and building materials throughout the UK.  As the Assistant Management Accountant you will be highly organised and self-motivated and have great communication skills in order to comfortably liaise with other members of both the finance team and the wider business.  If you are seeking to enhance your qualifications the company would be happy to support further study. Key responsibilities – Assistant Management Accountant:

  • Reporting and monitoring margin analysis by product group, including
  • Responsible for the supplier rebates for business – currently C£8M pa
  • Accrual of monthly rebate due
  • Reconciliation of accruals to receipts from suppliers
  • Verify records against third party information to ensure accrual is accurate
  • Quarterly review meetings with Buying Department to review rebates
  • Look to develop further reporting and utilise system function to drive improvements in understanding/reporting and accruing rebates
  • Generation and distribution of daily and monthly sales reports to key stakeholders
  • Assisting the MA with management accounts preparation
  • Point of contact for one Regional Manager and 15 branch managers with queries on Management accounts
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • KPI reporting
  • Assisting and covering for purchase and sales ledger when require
  • Any other ad-hoc duties within the Finance Department and assisting the Financial Controller with various projects

Personal specification – Assistant Management Accountant:

  • Qualified to Level 4AAT or neat-to qualified
  • Prior experience in an all-round accounts assistant role including purchase and sales ledgers
  • Excellent IT skills including MC Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills
