Technical Field Service Engineer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced multi-skilled Mechanical / Electrical Engineer, to work for the global leader in the use of calcium nitrates and associated products for industrial purposes. You will be joining an enthusiastic and evolving team, carrying out the commissioning and mechanical servicing of dousing systems, telemetry and dosing pumps at water treatment plants throughout the South of the UK.  Product training will be provided.

Working from a home base, ideally living close to M4/M3/M40 corridors, you will be travelling and working throughout the South/Midlands of UK. Occasional overnight stays away will be required and a company expense account is provided for this purpose.

Specific responsibilities are as follows:


  • Undertake planned maintenance and repairs on customer dosing equipment at client sites.
  • Troubleshooting of dosing and monitoring faults
  • Involvement with development projects and commissioning of equipment
  • Identify cost savings and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain relevant documentation relating to site maintenance work, including development and update of plant maintenance procedures
  • Comply with the company’s Health & Safety policy


  • Minimum City & Guilds/NVQ level 3, or equivalent, in Mechanical and Electrical / Instrumentation craft studies or similar
  • Experienced Maintenance Engineer with ideally experience of working remotely within the field
  • Water treatment plant experience useful but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of current engineering standards and H&S legislation
  • Good communication skills with the ability to give clear and concise verbal and written
  • UK driving licence

You may currently be working as a Mechanical Fitter or Electrical fitter, Mech. or Eng. Fitter, Instrumentation Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical engineer, Water Engineer, Field Service Engineer or a Field Service Technician.

Ideal locations will be Reading, Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Basingstoke, Newbury, Winchester, Southampton, Cheltenham although any location in the South of UK will be considered.
